A lot of issues are easily resolved by simply restarting your computer and router. If Screens Connect starts to have connection issues for no apparent reason and nothing has changed, try this first.

What is the difference between Screens Connect and Screens for Mac?

Screens for Mac is a client app while Screens Connect is an optional utility app that takes care of configuring your network in order to make your computer reachable from anywhere.

So if you intend to connect from Screens on an iOS device, you do not need to purchase Screens for Mac as well.

OK. Then what is the difference between Screens Express and Screens Connect?

Screens Express is intended for a sporadic use where you do not need to connect to a Mac on a regular basis while Screens Connect is intended for a more regular use. Both are optional utility apps that takes care of configuring your network in order to make your computer reachable from anywhere.

If you want to connect to your computers on a regular basis when you're away, install Screens Connect. If you want to connect to a Mac to help a client, a friend or a relative, have them install Screens Express in their Mac in order to be able to connect to it.

Where can I find the Screens Connect User Guide?

You'll find built-in documentation directly into Screens Connect in System Preferences → Screens Connect → Help button or here if you prefer the online version.

Which OS X versions are supported?

Screens Connect supports OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later. You can download Screens Connect for Mac here.

Screens Connect refuses to install on my Mac!

Screens Connect supports OS X 10.6.8 or later. To make sure you install the correct version, please download from https://screensconnect.com/d.

It is also possible that disk permissions need to be repaired. To do so, open Disk Utility, select the main disk and click on Repair Disk Permissions.

Why is Bonjour disabled on my Windows PC?

How can I uninstall Screens Connect?

On OS X

  1. Download Screens Connect.
  2. Open the DMG image.
  3. Double-click on “Uninstall Screens Connect”.

On Windows

  1. Find the Screens Connect icon in the system tray.
  2. Right-click on the icon.
  3. Select 'Exit'.
  4. Open Windows' Control Panel.
  5. Select 'Uninstall a program'.
  6. Browse through the installed applications.
  7. Select on Screens Connect.
  8. Click 'Uninstall'.
