Edovia was founded back in 2003 by Luc Vandal, after leaving Corel Corporation, where he worked as a software developer on the CorelDRAW PC/Mac team. Back then, Edovia was developing an anti-spam plugin called InboxShield (later called Edovia AntiSpam) for Outlook and Outlook Express that ran on Windows. That lasted a couple of years until Edovia sold the IP to a French company to rebrand the software under the name Dynaxa. While this adventure was not a success financially (far from it!), it gave the company some good bases about software development and marketing that would prove useful later.
From that point, Edovia went on a 2 year hiatus, while Luc worked for HumanWare Canada, where he ported their Victor Reader software from PC to Mac.
Fast forward Spring 2008, Edovia got the opportunity to be amongst the first companies to develop iPhone apps. So we came out with Linguo and Steps, which were on sale at the Grand Opening of the App Store later in July.
Edovia has since dedicated its efforts to develop iPhone apps and now for the iPad. The company intends to develop some Mac apps in the future as well.
The company is still runned by Luc Vandal, who's also the main software developer, marketer, manager, [put title here]. Edovia hires some talented designers (Sebastiaan de With, Jake Desaulniers) and developers when needed.
Edovia is located in Montreal, Canada.
Edovia develops its own apps and now has several apps on the App Store. We like the liberty of doing our own stuff so we can have total control over every aspect (sounds familiar?). We do apps that we want to use and we create them because we're in love with the platform.
We appreciate your interest in Edovia. We do read every single email and try to respond in a timely manner. However due to the amount of emails we receive, it may take a while.
